Objection looked at the personal experience of Israelis who refused service in the IDF within the wider social and political context of army service in Israeli society and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. During this residency, I continued my extensive research including a large number of interviews with objectors, academics and artists, and finally caried out an intensive week of improvisation to camera with local actors. The resulting multi-channel film installation was exhibited in Israel and the UK, followed by an international tour. The project was funded by British Council and Arts Council England through the Artists International Development Fund and produced by filmpro (London).
