scene is changing unpredictably \u2013 how do we make use of this uncertain time?<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p id=\"block-a3b502cf-260b-43ee-99c9-75001e27682a\">we are now moving to a digital realm &#8211; it is challenging, draining, but also very\u00a0interesting, particularly as a tool to tell a complex story collaboratively, across\u00a0\u2018social distance\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p id=\"block-8b16b068-5bb4-4dd2-a169-503fb460762f\">before the pandemic, my studio was my safe space, but now\u00a0i need a digital one which I can invite my collaborators (actors, survivors,\u00a0witnesses, experts and consultants) into. with the forced intimacy of these digital spaces, i need to find out what \u2018safe\u2019 and\u00a0\u2018creative space\u2019 mean.\u00a0especially while addressing confidentiality when working with a sensitive\u00a0subject.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p id=\"block-f7af6a68-03b9-405d-b6f3-ad0d8a221837\">with <em>past tense story one<\/em>, i wanted to explore the possibilities for storytelling and intimacy in digital space by inviting actors for improvisation sessions to look at the themes, characters, stories,\u00a0and how to be, and to be creative, in this digital space.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"wp-block-image\"><\/p>\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img modes of connection raise several questions: how do we\u00a0take care of one another and provide mutual support in a digital setting? how\u00a0will we establish trust?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p id=\"block-cacf4022-e454-42c4-94ac-bb38c1bae27a\">through\u00a0a collaborative film-making process, this project opens up narratives around\u00a0male on male sexual violence in a nuanced and non-judgemental way. with the lockdown, it was about finding new ways of working.\u00a0 finding ways to collaboratively create improvisations, where we all felt safe and supported enough to go deeper into this sensitive subject. this helped me to rethink the necessity of digital communications as an artistic tool rather than a limitation.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p id=\"block-235f4da0-cb98-473e-8348-c4765c1f56f4\">we intended to collaboratively create improvisations where we all felt safe and supported enough to go deeper into the sensitive subject of sexual violence. this R&amp;D was an exploration of\u00a0<strong>past tense story<\/strong>; therefore, we played,\u00a0interacted\u00a0and explored the themes, characters, and stories, and discover how to be, and be creative, in this digital space.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p id=\"block-355074e3-1949-4f9c-beb8-5d1970c7939c\">there was a safeguarding enabler on hand throughout the collaboration and sharing as well as time and space for processing.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p id=\"block-e315f6dd-1282-4e68-8bed-f2895750afd4\">with the emergency funding from arts council, it was interesting to engage with the characteristics of different digital platforms, and compare their relationship to specific kinds of physical space in this process.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p id=\"block-dc4c0fa1-38c6-4979-989b-88171c7256fd\">team:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li
